Weither it’s your first, second, third or fourth — announcing your pregnancy to friends and family is always full of mixed reactions. With this pregnancy, have fun with it like Jessica Simpson did when she announced her pregnancy on Halloween by dressing up as a “Mummy”! Here are some creative, cute and sentimental fun ways to announce pregnancy.
Surprise! Surprise! Bake a cake with a little plastic baby or pacifier inside. Then have both your parents over for dinner and when it’s time for dessert, have one of your parents cut the cake to find the surprise.
Sports Fans. For those who are sports fans, buy matching jerseys of your partner’s favorite sports team for him and the new baby-on-the-way. Take it a step further and personalize the shirts with your last name.
Movie Night. Have a baby themed movie night. Rent movies like “Nine Months,” “Baby Mama,” “Look Who’s Talking,” “Juno,” or “Knocked Up.” Kick it up a notch and some baby snacks like baby carrots, pacifier candies and baby snap peas. You can do this pregnancy announcement with your spouse or friends.
Big Brother. Buy a “Big Brother” or “Big Sister” tee for the youngest child that you already have and take a visit to your friends and families house.
Family Tree. Start a family tree with pictures of grandparents, parents, brothers and sisters, aunts etc. Underneath the spot for your immediate family, put a picture of a stork and the baby’s due date. Share it at a family gathering.
Smart Phone Friendly. Download an ap where you can “morph” you and your spouses faces together to show what your child may look like. Then text him the picture of your new family member.
Send Him to the Store. Ask your spouse to stop by the grocery store on the way home from work and text him a list of pregnancy related items: saltine crackers, pickles, ice cream and prenatal vitamins. You’ll be getting a call shortly.
Baby on Board. Hang a “Baby On Board” sign in your spouse’s drivers side window.
Just Became A Daddy. Decorate your spouse’s car in pink and blue ribbons and bows. Write on the car with white car friendly paint “Just Became A Daddy”
Show The Signs. Post blue and pink signs on your street so he can see them as he drives home from work. Express “Congrats (name) you will be a Daddy”.
Scavenger Hunt. Have a scavenger hunt in your home. Put little items round the house with a note leading him to the next item. Use things like your wedding picture, his baby picture and your baby picture, a baby bottle, a baby book and eventually lead him to a pregnancy test.
Chinese Please. Order in chinese and slide a little note in the fortune cookie that says “We are having a baby” or “You’re going to be a dad”. You can also have fortune cookies made with a custom message.
